During the COVID-19 pandemic, DEET took swift action to support families struggling to meet their basic needs. In the villages of Tirumangalam, we organized the distribution of essential groceries and medical kits to households affected by the crisis. These supplies included staple food items, hygiene products, and protective equipment to ensure the health and safety of families during the challenging period. By extending this timely assistance, DEET played a crucial role in helping these communities navigate the pandemic’s economic and social hardships.
In addition to pandemic relief, DEET also responded promptly when the Gaja cyclone devastated the Sirumalai region. Recognizing the urgent needs of displaced families, we provided crucial support that included groceries, bedsheets, and solar lamps. Similarly, when Cyclone Fengal impacted in the Cuddalore district, DEET swiftly stepped in to support 200 affected families. We provided each family with 10kg of rice and two bedsheets to help them cope with the aftermath. These resources were vital in helping families maintain their well-being and rebuild their lives after the disasters.
