Housing Support – Project Year 2025

In 2025, DEET continued its housing initiative by constructing permanent concrete houses for vulnerable families. The project supported widows, working women, and families without a stable shelter in Kamakapatti and Genguvarpatti. Beneficiaries previously lived in unsafe mud houses or temporary rental huts.

The new houses provided safety, durability, and long‑term security. Permanent housing significantly improved living conditions and dignity. Several families further upgraded their homes after construction.
Upgrades included additional rooms, remodeling, storage facilities, and water access. These improvements were made using the beneficiaries’ own efforts and resources. The project strengthened stability for women‑headed households and children. It stands as a sustainable intervention promoting resilience and self‑reliance.
